COALVILLE
Coalville was born from the Industrial Revolution thanks to its coal mining heritage. It’s now the largest town in the district and whilst the industrial past still influences the landscape, the town has diversified and is surrounded by the unmistakable beauty of the National Forest. Snibston Colliery Park celebrates the area’s mining history while the Snibston Colliery itself provides the perfect opportunity to relax in the beautiful surroundings of the country park. The town centre hosts a range of independent shops and eateries as well as some well known retailers. The Whitwick and Coalville Leisure Centre is home to a fantastic range of state of the art sports and leisure facilities.
